Success Funda!

I am often curious to understand how success manifests itself and the general perspective of people towards the same. Let me ask you first, who doesn't intend to be successful on this earth? Everybody wants to be on the higher ranks of the society at some point of time in their life, right? The definitions of success around the globe is ambiguous. Most of the people would vote for excess wealth and having high purchasing power, some to attain celebrity status, for some it can mean pleasures to keep their hearts excited with wine and women and of course there are also people who think success is helping the marginal sector of our society.

In general, people want to measure success with PMF index. That defines as to what extent one has PowerMoney and Fame and I wish to add one more to it, i.e. Fan club. Have you ever studied the life of a celebrity? Their movements are restricted unlike a common person, they fear security issues, their lives are in constant threat of the mob. They are not free people and I would call this is as success with limited freedom.

“Success” does not have a saturation point, Have you thought about it? If it does then why would one who is involved in crimes, making obscene amounts of money and wealth still keep cheating until he/she is caught and later become fugitives fearing for their life.

People keep pushing the bar to ascend to the point of infinity and vanity. Psychologists call it the Success Spiral Syndrome. The Bible warns people by saying “watch out be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of his possessions.”. Success in true essence is in knowing God and the purpose of one’s life. This is established when someone is able to develop a close relationship with God and live a guilt free life. Find a Savior who does both and transform you into a successful person in His terms. A true genuine relationship with God should also be able to transform us to live a worthful life to oneself and to others.

Premediated crime - Legal language

The newer and horrendous ways of sophisticated crime these days hit the headlines. If you notice, our emotions have familiarized with the usual kind of news like accidents, bank robbery, rapes, shooting at school etc. We have come to a point that it doesn't bother us anymore. In fact, it takes a bigger destruction, more gruesome, loss of lives in large numbers to move our emotions to sympathy. People are finding most bizarre ways to eradicate mankind by destroying lives and leave the places haunted.

The law enforcement department and judiciary system keep introducing variety of expertise, to tackle the 21st century crimes yet the results are not too significant. It's not the law system always to be blamed, the people who value oneself above others stands as a major concern.

In Judiciary system there is this a term called 'Premeditated crime'. This means that a particular individual before a heinous act runs the details of the crime in his mind well in advance and then later at his/her convenient scheduled time, performs the actual crime. So, where did it all begin? In the hidden mind where one keeps his pleasure and priorities at a higher realm and executes at the cost of butchering others rights and lives.

The lonely mind wanders crazily to satisfy one’s desire and later justify as sacred by putting either God, or religion into it. How does one tackle this and also keep the mind sane and hearts pure? We are all aware of the variety of therapies found; like meditation, relaxation, laughter, living in solitude, chanting and many more that promises to deliver from one’s clutches and set the mind free. It does divert the concentration for a little season but does not have the power to deliver completely.

What is needed is a transformation of one’s mind and heart to make it sensitive to the love of God and respect and value others as they love themselves. In the holy scriptures it says “Out of people’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immoralities, thefts, murders, adulteries, greed, evil actions, deceit, envy, foolishness, all these evil things come from within and defile a person.”. This means you need a savior who can forgive you and liberate you from all such evils and make you a better citizen, spouse, parent, child, neighbor etc. Prayer is talking to God. He will liberate you and help you for sure.

Wrong doing in Childhood becomes right in adulthood- Strange?

Have you ever wondered why your parents were disciplining you on all your wrongdoings and you were watched and monitored constantly?  You were not allowed to smoke, booze, use substance, gamble, have fun with opposite sex, watch pornography, flirt, cheat and be dishonest. All this was considered as crime. Either our parents were dumb and stupid to the core restricting us from having fun or they valued the right things and thought such ill habits will have a detrimental effect on us.

Now consider this, while one transitions from childhood to adulthood and once independence and power of money is gained, all the above that was referred and viewed as wrong by the parents are now at their choice to pick any habits and usually such people end up justifying or living a double life.

This cycle keeps moving and people never take it seriously. While one has picked up wrong habits and live at their terms with no moral framework, they ensure their spouses or children doesn’t exhibit the same. It doesn’t work that way, Psychologist say most of the behaviors are learned behavior and people around them are influenced by the same. You don’t want your children or loved ones to be learning something that can have a serious effect on them or in their family, do you?

You can  get over this predicament only with the help of God and not religion. Have you ever wondered that the problem with religion and morality is that it never gives you the power you are supposed to do? Think about it. Some think religion and devotion to God is a set of rules, rituals, practices and training, but it is not. It is about relationship with God. The challenges with all of these kinds of training is that it attempts, Reformation before Transformation.

In Bible it says "If I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one that does it, but it is the sin that lives in me”. There is good news, you can be delivered from such ill behaviors, moral failures or addictions only through the help of God, a God with no contradiction and who displayed perfect model life, only He can transform you to be a better person. You can only receive help from God who has a power to deliver you and me from the wretchedness of sin and all negative habits. Speak to Him through Prayer to transform you to be a better person.

Knocking of all boundaries

How much would you appreciate to live in a society or a country where the truth and moral law is relative? (meaning one can do according to what he feels right). Some of the people think it would be great if there are no moral boundaries and in general if his/her views and actions wouldn't result in any serious consequences - a life designed by his/her own to suit and justify ones choices. A world of ambiguity or no moral framework is just unlivable.

The rich, the powerful, the famous and in some cases the parents who have the power of luxury are already modelling it and sadly pushing the children to jeopardy.

I am sure all are aware of the recent news in India on the striking down of section 497 IPC which translates, “Adultery is no longer a crime in India though it can be grounds for divorce” is welcomed in some cases, condemned in other the mixed responses debated all over. This means you can live your own life however you want and likewise your wife can by her choice and each of us don't have to be accountable anymore. Click  the news link below for further reference:

Once one begins to realize that morality is not relative, that it cannot be grounded in biological evolution, and that it cannot be fully explained on the basis of social conventions or individual taste, one immediately feels drawn to the conclusion that God must exist.

You don't have to be of any particular religion to know the moral law and be able to distinguish between right and wrong. God has already woven it in your heart. It is only when we try to shift and push the boundaries in order to satisfy our selfish desires at the cost of our loved ones and friends.

To understand it and lead a holy life with integrity, we should have access to a God who is not similar to us, but is supreme than us, infinite and who modeled a holy life more than just being a good person. When we connect to Him the savior of our souls, He would transform us to be a better person. C S Lewis says, "You are a soul and you are given a body", you cannot afford to barter your soul for cheap stuff and regret all your life. It is said in the Bible "For what does it benefit someone to gain the whole world and yet lose his life?" Think about it.

Are you influenced by gods?

India is known for its rich culture and religious identity. You would admit with me that our devotion to God comes in many forms, packaged into innumerable deities, god's and religions. There are countless religious festivals, ceremonies and rituals that one can get lost in its myriad. Glorifying each of these festivals by splurging money has become a trend in recent times.

It will not be fair to categorize a person or the country as religious on the basis of how lavishly they set up a devotion room in one’s house, society or in the city. Recently, it was cited that a saree for goddess Durga worth 22 kg of gold was prepared in Kolkata. Does that mean Kolkata supersedes as number one religious state? Not a fair argument, right? Let’s together analyze if our devotion to God is transforming us as a person with divine values or whether religion and life are two different sides of a coin altogether.

It is said that there are 4 to 5 million sadhus (there are naked digambara, or "sky-clad" sadhus who wear their hair in thick dreadlocks called jata) and sadvis. Some of them are revered and worshiped even after their death. There are incidents where people have placed them in the position of gods later to their utter bewilderment, only to be revealed how negative and harmful they were to the society.

Predominantly, we want religion to make us happy. Our complacent attitude takes the better of us by giving cash offerings and gold offerings in some cases to Temples, Mosques, Churches and other places of worship without really taking an effort to be a transformed person. Check this informational video which is there for a long-time asking people to stop donating money to religious places;  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZFEpy5CByI&t=25s

Even the supreme Court in India has ordered massive judicial scrutiny and do an audit of all religious shrines because of the misuse in many cases.  Check this short video:

A true God is an embodiment of love, who transforms us from our wretched sinful state of addiction of any kind and restore us to a nice human being. Our devotion to God should be able to transform us to be a better person with divine nature from whom love, peace and joy is continually transmitted.  He invites us to join Him in crafting an abundant and joy-filled life.  Transformed life by God incites us to save the society being affected by any social evil.

Lost in muchness and manyness?

You would agree with me that we spend a lot of time working, talking on the phone, driving, multitasking and in the process stressed ourselves out. The strong obsession to acquire more, achieve more in a short turnaround time is overwhelming and sometimes frustrating. In contemporary society our adversary (the evil one) majors in three things: noise, hurry, and crowds. We are lost in ‘muchness’ and manyness’.Psychiatrist C G Jung once remarked, 'Hurry is not of the devil; it is the devil’. It is like the taximeters implanted in our brains. We hear the relentless tick rocking telling us to hurry, hurry, time is money. . . resulting in this roaring blur called the human race.

Japanese proverb says, “Even if you sleep in a thousand-mat room, you can only sleep on one mat”

In the pursuit to achieve more we have lost the real connection with one another and have been reprogrammed into a sophisticated machine. All the hurriedness and busyness is ironically forcing us to live an sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating finally puts our lives at risk.  In the bargain we lose our resources, our peace and the joy of living.  Check this link,  Juliet Funt from 'whitespace' gives a professional lesson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXpeGspTq64

You are not a machine, you are created by God. The creator knows that you need to make a living and therefore has already stored up resources from above while you came into existence. Unfortunately, people tend to lose it in the pursuit of gaining more by fair or unfair means. The famous quote in Hindi language in India goes like this, “daane daane pe likha hai khane wala ka naam” which when translated in English means 'on every grain is written the person who will eat'. We have our portion assigned already. Let’s not panic in the fear of tomorrows robbing the 'enough' of today.

The greatest achievement is not the accumulation of wealth to take care of us after ten years. Sometimes three meals a day and meeting of basic needs in itself can give peaceful sleep and contentment. Let's keep in mind millions are still going to bed hungry around the world.  Enhance the quality of life by prioritizing. Ensure God is the core in all the matters of life - be it your personal, family or work.  Check this amazing video

Ideas are Powerful.

An idea is a thought that guides human action and there is nothing more powerful than an Idea. Idea produces everything. Have you wondered the bike that you have was first an idea, the car you drive was an idea, the dress you wear was an idea, the shoe on your feet was an idea? Connecting people around the globe through technology in a fraction of second was an idea. Everything we use in this earth is the product of an idea.  Idea doesn't die because it is powerful. People die but Ideas outlive men.

Idea cannot be destroyed they Submerge and Reemerge in generations. Let me give an example, Democracy was an idea invented by Greek philosophers. Plato invented it, Socrates discussed it and Aristotle debated it. They are all dead but democracy is still there. Today the world suffers from terrorism, child trafficking, prostitution, and every sort of crime that destroys lives.  All these crimes were first an idea which still survive even though the concerned person responsible is killed or has died.  The only effective solution to negate such social evils is to address the reason behind the idea with a message of love, and kill the idea with a positive approach.

Unfortunately, instead of debating the idea we think of getting rid of the person, which is a bad response - A thought to ponder. In such cases a good or bad idea can take stronger root and come even more powerfully.  Today the constant clash to eradicate people from other faith and religion is taking a omnious turn around the world. Unfortunately, many people are obliterated and killed as a result. Anytime, If a nation or group revolve around an idea that exists to the factors, the big crowd's opinions are always right, or the most powerful make a point. If this is the case, then it will make life unlivable in this beautiful planet created by God. Idea can never be qualified based on power. Think about it.

Parents can help children with values and fundamental ethics. Values like morality, integrity, honesty, sharing, helping and becoming a civilized individual is contagious and can spread like a sweet perfume. With a help of God who set a model for all of us to follow, we can influence each other to sustain harmony and make the living peaceful and safe.
