576 megapixels!

The human eye has the incredible potentials of resolution of approximately 576 megapixels which is higher than most digital cameras, with a field view of around 180 degrees horizontally and 135 degrees vertically. It can track moving objects at a speed of 100 degrees per second and focus on an object as close as ten centimeters. It is a great gift of our Creator for sight.

Jesus went a step ahead and explained that "The eye is the lamp of the body" (Matthew 6:22Bible) which means our focus, perception, and spiritual outlook dictate our entire being. A healthy or "good" eye—focused on God and generosity—fills the life with light, while a bad or stingy eye leads to darkness and corruption, representing one's inner spiritual state and values. Located in the Sermon on the Mount, this passage highlights that true spiritual sight comes from devotion to God, rather than materialistic desires, which clouds perception and causes inner darkness. What your eye captures and processes is crucial.

The eyes serve as the entrance to the heart and mind; what we focus on (good or evil) shapes our inner life. A clear, focused eye indicates a generous heart, which fills the body with light, often tied to storing treasures in heaven rather than on earth. A diseased or bad eye indicates a stingy, envious, or greedy perspective, which leads to spiritual darkness.

What you want to see and don’t want to see depends on the state of your heart. If your heart is pure and holy all the parts of your body align with it including your eye. Today the digital world has opened spectacular view of what one wants to see and experience and that includes almost anything. For example, when it comes to food and beverage it is no more the matter of only satisfying the hunger and thirst. It goes beyond that. One wants to enjoy the novelty through an aesthetic sense that satisfies the eye first. 

Covetousness has destroyed great destinies and potentials of many young people. Beware of what your eyes see and your heart meditates on. Bring the whole of your senses under the control of the Spirit of God. The sight that dazzles sometimes holds the key to destruction. 

In the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, the two things specifically highlighted that can never be satisfied are the eye with seeing and the ear with hearing. "The eye is not satisfied with seeing":This refers to the insatiable human desire for new sights, experiences, and visual pleasure. No matter how much a person sees, they always want to see more. Likewise, "the ear is not filled with hearing": This refers to the insatiable human desire for new information, news, music, or knowledge. The ear is never content with what it has already heard. These two examples are part of the broader theme in Ecclesiastes 1:8 Bible, which states that all human endeavors are full of a weariness that words cannot fully describe, because worldly pleasures and pursuits can never ultimately satisfy the human soul.

The Christian song writer “Open the eyes of my heart lord” expresses the yearning to see God through the lens of the human heart. Jesus can satisfy your heart and soul when you get to know Him through the Bible. Jesus who has resurrected from the dead is longing to fill your heart and mind with joy incomprehensible. Love Misinterpreted!

Do you realise in today’s world the general understanding of love is limited to gratification, infatuation, lust, transaction, sympathy, ritual etc.? Unfortunately, love has become the most misunderstood word. In a family relationship, love is usually translated to responsibility, obligation, doing the daily chores and submissiveness. Likewise in every relationship it has filtered thin to either obligation or transaction.

Greeks recognized several distinct types of love, and while they had many terms, these four are the most commonly cited fundamental categories. They distinguished between these types rather than using one generic word.

Storge - Familial Love 

Instinctive, natural affection, typically between parents and children, or family members.

Philia/Phileo - Friendship Love 

Affectionate friendship or brotherly love, often between equals.

Eros - Romantic/Passionate Love

Passionate longing, desire, or intense physical attraction.

Agape - Unconditional/Sacrificial Love 

The highest form of love—selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional love. 

Amazing categorization, isn’t it?  Let me provide the excerpt from the Bible in 1 Corinthians 13: 3-8 where love is beautifully described. 

“If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…” 

Love is always non-transactional. In spiritual realm, prayer is the expression of love, not otherwise. In today’s world where prayer feels like obligation or performative, Christianity’s original model was surprisingly simple: Prayer was never meant to impress. It was meant to connect; a relationship between father and child, in other words it is a result of love. Nick Hinton puts it so beautifully, “God is not strict as we think. We have it all backwards. All the fasting, prostrations and prayers aren’t necessarily getting us closer to God. They are byproduct of loving Him and wanting to spend all our time with Him. If they are not done out of love, they are vain.”

Today, everything is brought down to performance and self-gratification. Even religious obligations sometimes are so burdensome. Most of the time it is about fulfilling and trying to complete the task. Love is not in the puzzle at all. Your good works, duties can still be done devoid of love. 

You need a God who is not only powerful but an expression of love. Jesus’s powerful statement which says, “There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.” John 15:13 Bible. In the story of Jesus, He never regulated laws, obligation and performance but emphasized on love. Jesus demonstrated it by His greatest sacrifice for the sins of mankind and made a way to reach God. 

Good deeds are not atonement for sin before a holy God. Scripture says even our righteous acts fall short (Isaiah 64:6 Bible). We do not need a better list of actions. We need a Savior. Jesus Christ did what no act of charity ever could. He bore sin, satisfied God’s justice, and offers forgiveness by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9 Bible). In the Bible it is beautifully narrated about Christ love, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 Bible) And then in the same book of Romans 5:5 it states, “…God’s love has been poured out into our hearts.”. So, you think you are smart!

Smartness is not cunningness, manipulation, or using people to our advantage. There is a fundamental difference between true intelligence and exploitation of others. True intelligence is the glow of the genuineness and integrity of the heart. True intelligence is not merely intellectual capacity but rather a reflection of authenticity, moral integrity, and a good heart. It suggests that genuine wisdom involves an inner light—a "glow"—that emerges when a person acts with honesty and kindness, rather than selfishness or deception. There is a thin line between smartness and cunningness. A person who makes a quick effort to achieve a goal is called smart, but if he/she pretends to hide his/her real intentions and deceives, it is called cunning.

Human race is becoming dangerous and manipulative. You can document it for generations. Our own loved ones can be manipulative and selfish. The author of the book of Psalms in the Bible cries to God with these words, “Help Lord, for no faithful one remains; the loyal have disappeared from the human race.” Each one has selfish agendas. You can be with your closed ones and still be unaware of their personal agenda until it raises its ugly hood someday.  The Bible states “The Lord looks down from heaven on the human race, to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God. All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good not even one.”. That’s who we are my friends.

You cannot live a dichotomous life. Jesus in His discourse with people clarifies. “Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.". Jesus makes a strong judgement when people pose good and continue to emerge as evil.

Con Mum (2025) is a Netflix documentary detailing the true story of Graham Hornigold, a British pastry chef defrauded of nearly £300,000 by his long-estranged biological mother, Dionne Marie Hanna. Hanna faked terminal cancer and claimed to be a wealthy heiress, manipulating her son to fund a lavish lifestyle. She was later charged with multiple fraud counts. Seriously? Yes! There are so many incidents of parents defrauding and deceiving their kids, stories of children manipulating their parents and loved ones hurting each other deeply. Often it is all rooted in greed. 

Everything is a matter of the heart. And man’s heart is wicked and deceptive. Knowingly or even inadvertently our heart constantly schemes evil. The heart often tricks the individual, causing them to justify wicked choices, ignore blind spots, or convince themselves that they are doing right, when they are not. You need a new heart that is god-fearing, sensitive and honest. A complete physical heat transplantation will not achieve this but a 360-degree transformation of a sinful heart. A holy God, Christ Jesus, addressed the problem of sin in human race by His sacrifice on the cross and His death and resurrection. All you need to do is to surrender to Him for help. You cannot forfeit your soul because you have become comfortable with the pattern you developed. Confess your sins, receive forgiveness and be transformed.

The best source of inspiration!

Every day over 160000 people cease to exist globally. And all have their own way of doing the last rites based on their personal belief system and religion they belong to. I was recently part of one such last rite of my good friend who passed away very young  leaving his wife and children. While I was sitting at the cemetery and witnessing the last prayer meeting, floods of thoughts were gushing through my mind reminding me the destiny of man. It is a scary thought but a hardcore reality. Visiting the house of grieving over the loss of the loved ones is one of the best inspirations one can get.  You are reminded of your frailty and your destiny. 

G K Chesterton powerful quote, “Meaninglessness does not come from being weary of pain. Meaninglessness comes from being weary of pleasure.”. While you suffer or witness people suffer it helps you to contemplate on life meaningfully.  "It is better to be in the house of mourning" is a proverb from Ecclesiastes 7:2 Bible, that encourages choosing reflection over shallow pleasure. It highlights that facing the reality of death, rather than ignoring it, provides wisdom, perspective, and a serious consideration of life’s brevity and meaning. 

The house of mourning (a funeral or place of grief) is superior to a house of feasting (party) because it forces us to acknowledge our mortality. Sorrow is described as better than laughter because it "sharpens your understanding" and corrects the heart, reminding us to live wisely rather than chasing empty pleasure. The phrase notes that "death is the destiny of everyone," and acknowledging this helps the living appreciate life and focus on what truly matters. Visiting the bereaved offers a time for deep thought, allowing people to live more intentionally, whereas constant merrymaking can lead to folly.  The passage does not promote being unhappy but rather emphasizes that the sobering perspective gained from experiencing loss is more valuable for character and wisdom than constant, fleeting fun.

Christians hope in Christ. Death is not the ultimate reality because Jesus made a strong statement which says, “…because I live, you will live also".  The history witnessing the nature of birth, life, death and the resurrection endorses that Jesus is not just an ordinary man He is a savior. Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. Paul in His epistles in the Bible states, "O death, where is your sting?" (1 Corinthians 15:55 Bible) expressing victory over death through Jesus Christ. It signifies that for believers, death has lost its terror, power, and finality because sin (the "sting") has been conquered through resurrection. There can be many religious theories of life, but believing in Jesus can a give a transformative view. 

The Bible cites, “Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” You have a hope to live for eternity and most importantly to be part of the kingdom of God (Heaven) with Him for eternity. This is not a religious paradigm. The only qualification is to have our sins forgiven. Jesus came to forgive our sins and make us free from the bondage of sins and any wrongdoings and to live with Him for eternity. According to Romans 10:9-10 Bible, if you confess with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. This act combines sincere inner conviction (heart) with public declaration (mouth), focusing on faith rather than earning salvation through works.

Flash thoughts!

We all experience flippant thought, imaginations which are picturesque. Some are pleasing and enriching while others conjure up unpleasant memories. These sudden, gushing, and picturesque thoughts are known in psychology as spontaneous thoughts or involuntary mental imagery. They are a normal part of cognitive processing, where the brain generates random, unbidden, and often intense images—ranging from pleasant, creative daydreams to disturbing, unwanted memories.

Cognitive psychologists observe that the brain is constantly running in the background, making connections between smells, sounds, or emotions, and your memories. Some minds are more prone to fixating on thoughts, acting like a "hamster wheel" that repeats the same thought. It just doesn’t stop there, many experience sudden, unwanted, or "dirty" thoughts—along with unwanted, distressing memories—are a universal human experience often referred to in psychology as intrusive thoughts. According to research, approximately 93% of people report having at least one intrusive thought over a 3-month period. These thoughts, which can range from bizarre or a taboo to violent or sexual, often in direct conflict with a person’s values, character, and desires. Sometimes these thoughts are born of morbid curiosity. While driving along a winding mountain highway, suddenly we imagine what would happen if we jerked the wheel to the right. Other times, such thoughts arise from our sinful hearts. 

According to the “sticky mind” theory the brain often fixates on thoughts it deems unacceptable, causing them to repeat. High levels of stress, anxiety, or lack of sleep can increase the frequency of these thoughts, as the brain’s ability to suppress them is compromised. The positive suggestions are good to try but usually it is not a long-lasting solution. We are all tired at some point, and our mind is constantly easing it through alternative thoughts and experience. But this is not the end of the explanation. 

Our minds are a battleground. We often tend to fight spiritual wars where we are held captive by the evil one and our minds are under its control. Apostle Paul writes in the Bible, “We demolish…every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.” This is only possible when you ask God for His help to fight any negative unwanted thoughts. Jesus was holy and immaculate.  When we worship Him and learn about Him our life changes to be like Him and seek what is right. Apostle Paul reminds us that it’s not enough to destroy false thinking—we have to form healthy imaginations too: “Brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Bible). It’s also important to replace our negative reels with the truths God declares about us. We can echo back to Him gratitude for who He’s remade us to be in Christ. Your struggle with these negative flash thoughts will be won over for good.

Invisible yet true!

 

There are many things in life that we don’t see exist yet believe. Some are obscure but we feel their effects. There are the abstracts like love, sympathy, kindness, of which we see the effects and experience it. Belief in God is similar. People worship deities either based on the stories that exist or based on the records of real powerful people who were seen as God.

We sort our troubles through our efforts and money. We have reserve funds and insurance policies to see us through difficult times that might arise. There is a pleasure in solving our problems and moving on. But there may be occasions when difficulty overwhelm us, and we drown as it were under that pressure. Seasons like those are rare. Its these occasions that reveal our frail human security, and we find ourselves exposed when all help is exhausted.

It’s in these moments of helplessness that we turn to our family religion, to the god as our last resort. We cling on to the words of religious scripture and visit our places of worship clinging to our God for dear life. We now want to connect with something we don’t see and hope for some supernatural miracle. If things work, we give credit to God and oblige our commitments in the form of offerings and gifts to the place or places of worship.

However, there is one God who said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29 Bible). It is Jesus Christ. He existed on earth around 4 -6 BC and lived approximately till AD 30-33 fulfilling many prophecies that were made regarding a Messiah, the nature of His birth, death and resurrection 700-900 years before His existence. His resurrection made history and Christians during this month celebrated a unique event, the Easter. While He lived, He gave hope to people about life, life after death, i.e. eternity. Your faith in God will change the course of your life with hope and certainty. Jesus promised His Holy spirit to dwell in the heart of man which means you don’t have to talk to a figure made of Him or His photo. You just need to call on His name from where you are. He has the power to forgive our sins and liberate us from all guilt. He will dwell among you and bless you with an abundant life now and life forever to all those who believe in Him and His resurrected power.

When people commit and don't fulfill most of the time!

I am not sure how many people are confident to claim that they had fulfilled 100% of all their commitments they have made so far. To be honest, I cannot claim that myself. We all struggle in this area of fulfilling commitments which is universal. The root causes can be   combination of overcommitting, poor time management, unexpected life events, and the emotional fatigue that follows initial enthusiasm. For many there could be other reasons why they fail to keep commitments.

People say "yes" too often to please others either to be genuinely helpful or just pure ambitious. They maybe obsessed with self-gratification which is the act of satisfying one's own desires, impulses, or needs, often focused on achieving personal pleasures. Studies estimate that the average adult makes approximately 35,000 "remotely conscious" decisions daily, ranging from ordinary choices like food (226+ daily) to complex, significant decisions. Most decisions are minor (e.g., what to wear, checking a phone), but the cumulative effect consumes substantial mental energy. Our decision-making eventually leads to making commitments consciously or subconsciously. Some are intentional but some are to escape the situation we are in.

A person to whom we make the commitment waits eagerly for the same to be fulfilled but it’s never a guarantee. Imagine that someone has promised something to you but does not fulfill. Its irritating and disappointing. This becomes even more prominent when you want to finish with the commitment and move on. It can happen in personal or professional life.  After someone lets you down a couple of times, you’re less likely to trust them, right? Most of the time people commit and pretend to forget, when they are unwilling to fulfil. People often make commitments with the intention of being polite, avoiding conflict, or impressing someone in the moment, rather than with a firm intent to follow through. Saying "no" can be socially uncomfortable. Promising and later acting forgetful is sometimes seen as a "softer" exit than direct refusal.

The Bible emphasizes that it is better not to make a vow or promise than to make one and fail to fulfill it (Ecclesiastes 5:5 Bible). Reckless commitments are considered foolish and sinful, as God expects His children to keep their word, even when it is difficult, rather than making excuses for not following through. Uncommitted life can lead to the breakdown of family, and relationships. Unfilled commitments are the matter of the heart. Commitments stem from honesty and integrity which is not a mere good practice it reflects who you are as a person. Your life is the result of many choices and influences including your religious system. But true change of heart that leads to honesty and sincerity is the result of who you worship. You become who you worship. By this standard if you measure, Jesus is unique and God of the universe not only of His deeds and lifestyle but because He was raised from dead. He is not a story or an event but a God who transforms lives. When you learn more about Him and worship Him your life is changed forever. You become a someone who people long to be with. Your words will have meaning and your commitments become a fulfillment of promises.

Resurrection- The Game Changer of your Destiny!

The Greatest news  the world has ever heard: The TOMB is EMPTY!

Dear Friends, wishing you all a Happy Easter! Easter is not a mere festival; it is an event that shook the entire human history. Jesus the incarnation of God rose from the grave as He promised and He is the only one since. The Bible is also one of the best historical narratives which states His resurrection. Paul, a former atheist, after encountering Jesus followed Him and preached Jesus. He is the author of the book to the Corinthians and states in 1 Corinthians 15:3-6, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.  After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.”

The resurrection of Jesus is recorded in the New Testament Gospels in the Bible - Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20-21 and in the Book of Acts. However, the earliest written record of the resurrection is the creed in 1 Corinthians 15:3–8, written by Paul around AD 50–55, which scholars believe dates to within months of the event. There is an interesting fact about the tomb in which Jesus was buried. According to the Bible, Jesus was buried in a borrowed, new tomb owned by Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy disciple who requested the body from Pilate. Key verses confirming this are Matthew 27:57-60, Luke 23:50-56, and John 19:38-42, note that the tomb was nearby, hewn from rock, and previously unused. The tomb, which was new and carved into rock, was used only temporarily—for a few days—because Jesus did not remain there, fulfilling the prophecy that He would be with the rich in His death. 

Joseph of Arimathea was a respected, wealthy council member (Sanhedrin) who secretly followed Jesus. He asked Pontius Pilate (Pontius Pilate was the Roman prefect (governor) of Judaea from 26–36 CE, best known for presiding over the trial of Jesus and sentencing Him to crucifixion), for Jesus’ body, ensuring a proper, honorable burial rather than leaving it for a mass grave.

Significance of "Borrowed": The tomb was not Jesus’ own, and it was used for a very brief period before the resurrection. Tradition holds that the tomb is within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

Prophetic Fulfillment: It fulfilled Isaiah 53:9, which predicted that despite being crucified with criminals, the Messiah would be buried in a rich man's grave. The Book of Isaiah is a prophetic book which was written approximately 700 to 500 years before Jesus. While the prophet Isaiah lived and wrote in the 8th century BCE (c. 700s BC), modern scholars indicate the book was compiled in stages, with major sections written during the Babylonian exile (6th century BCE).

The Gospel in the Bible is not advice for religious improvement. It is the announcement that God saves sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We can have eternal life. Jesus came and died to pay for our sins, making it possible to live eternally. His resurrection proved it and paved the way for all who believe. Bothered by guilt?

We suffer more by our guilt than the actual mistake or even the consequence of our mistake. Guilt is often considered a secondary emotion because it acts as a learned, defense, or reactive response—such as self-punishment or social conditioning—that covers up deeper primary emotions like fear, sadness, or inadequacy. While primary emotions are immediate, raw responses, secondary emotions like guilt, shame, or anger arise in reaction to them, often serving to mask vulnerable feelings or navigate social expectations.

Guilt often leads to obsessively revising the past, creating emotional turbulence far greater than the original mistake. Excessive guilt and shame are directly linked to higher rates of anxiety, depression, paranoia, and decreased self-esteem. Tim Challies puts it so beautifully in his article ‘The Guilt and The Shame’, “We need to begin by distinguishing between guilt and shame. Here is how I differentiate between them: Guilt is the objective reality that I have committed an offense or a crime; shame is the subjective experience of feeling humiliation or distress because of what I have done. God has made us in such a way that sin incurs guilt and guilt generates shame. But there is a catch and a caution: Guilt and shame come in helpful forms and in paralyzingly unhelpful forms. Guilt and shame can be a good gift of God or a curse of Satan.”

Distinguishing between guilt and shame is important in our discussion of sin and hope. Guilt is being held accountable for poor decisions and actions. Shame is the dreadful, piercing, crippling response to our actions. You will find ample suggestions out there that will teach you how to deal with guilt and live a guilt free life. Most of the suggestions are practices, therapies and mind rehearsals telling you that it’s ok to make mistakes because you are only human. Sometimes it can prompt you to rationalize the mistake and smother the guilt. But it doesn’t work that way. Guilt will continue to remind you every now and then about the act you feel bad about. And the symptoms of guilt can be psychological, emotional, physiological but most importantly spiritual. 

Physical symptoms of guilt often manifest through an activated autonomic nervous system, causing stress-related issues like tension headaches, muscle tension, stomach aches, nausea, and fatigue. The emotional symptoms can be deep remorse, shame, sadness, anxiety, and feelings of inadequacy. And the spiritual symptoms lead to feeling spiritually weighed down, tired, or sluggish, often described as carrying a burden. You can lead a guilt-free life by seeking forgiveness from the person against whom the act is done and confessing your sin to God because only Jesus Christ  has the power to forgive the sins of mankind. Human or religious atonement doesn’t work as it’s man’s invention to please God. 

There are so many occasions where Jesus healed someone and at the foremost, He forgave the sins of the person by saying “Your sins have been forgiven, go in peace.” and then healed the sickness. The priests of the synagogues in Jesus’ time were infuriated and questioned how He, Jesus can forgive the sins of people. In the olden times the book of Old Testament cites that they had offered different sacrifices for the atonement of the sin. They failed to realise that Jesus was son of God who came to earth to offer forgiveness from all sins that has the power to wipe out the guilt that comes along with it. You don’t have to suffer from guilt anymore. Jesus is God because only Jesus in the entire human history who was guiltless of any sins. He was wrongly accused, crucified and He victoriously rose from the dead. Over 2.3 billion people from all around the world will be observing Good Friday this week and acknowledge His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary and then celebrate the greatest event, Easter the resurrection day. Whatever burden and load you are carrying you can unload it by confessing your sins to Jesus from where you are and be set free. Learn to know more about Christ the Saviour, read the Bible in your preferred language and find the abundant life He has promised.

The Danger of Unpredictability!

Have you heard people say this, “he/she is so unpredictable” when they are describing someone? One of the delights, and frustrations, of dealing with people whether in business or in everyday life is that you can never tell what they are going to do next. If you must stop for a moment and make a list of such people, I am sure you would come up with a long list. However, your name would be missing. Whenever we conclude about someone, we usually exclude ourselves from the paradigm. It is always someone else other than us. We all can be unpredictable. 

Warwick business school puts their observation in this manner, “People are unpredictable due to a complex, chaotic interaction of internal and external factors, including ever-shifting emotional states, subconscious cognitive "noise" and reactions to changing environments. Human behavior is rarely consistent because individuals constantly adapt to new information, personal motivations, and environmental stimuli.”

Some argue that human actions are largely predictable due to inherent psychological and social patterns, while others emphasize the chaotic and spontaneous nature of human decisions. In short, human behaviour is noisy, even when it shouldn’t be. Indeed, high levels of noisiness seem to be built into the way our minds work. Let me list out few psychological reasons of why people are so unpredictable:

"Noise" in the Mind: Psychologists found that people often give different answers to the same questions in a short period. This suggests a natural, built-in "noise" or inconsistency in human decision-making.

Unconscious Choices (Autopilot): People are not always aware of their own motivations and may act on autopilot, driven by, for example, fear or desire, rather than logical, consistent, or pre-planned reasoning.

Ego and Self-Interest: Behaviors can change based on a desire for control, personal benefit, or because of ego-driven responses to social interactions.

Besides, the most important reasons are usually ignored. Here are few:

Inherent Brokenness: The Bible (Romans 7:19–20 Bible) highlights the internal conflict where people often do the evil they do not want to do and fail to do the good, they desire. This internal battle makes actions inconsistent and unpredictable.

A "Double-Minded" Nature:  The Bible (James 1:8 Bible) states that a "double-minded man is unstable in all his ways." This refers to someone divided between faith and doubt, or between God's will and worldly desires.

The "Heart" is Deceitful: The Bible states in Jeremiah 17:9 notes that the human heart is deceitful above all things, leading to unpredictable, selfish, or irrational behavior.

Human conditions are infested with sinful nature. Sin distorts the condition of human heart. The moment we take our eyes from Christ; we focus on satisfying our ego. The carnal nature takes different form to gratify the flesh. The person thereafter does everything to ensure that he/she is the center of attraction and is always in control. Mere spiritual habits cannot impact the state of your heart or mind. A conscious effort towards repentance and including Christ in every spectrum in the day-to-day activities of our life can impact stability and transformative behavior. 

Dealing with an unpredictable person from a biblical perspective involves balancing the call to love and extend grace with the wisdom of setting boundaries and guarding one's own heart. The Bible advises maintaining peace while not becoming a "doormat" to destructive behavior. Pray for the people or situation which is unpredictable. Do not forget God listens to prayers and provide you with all help. Some approaches can help; here are few: 

"Soft Answer" approach: The book of Proverbs in the Bible says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Avoid fighting fire with fire; instead, respond with calm.

Control your reactions: You cannot control their actions, but you can control your response. “Rule your spirit, which is more important than taking a city”. (Proverbs 16:32 Bible).

Don't try to win: With unpredictable or irrational people, trying to win the argument usually backfires. Sometimes, the wisest move is to disengage and walk away (Proverbs 14:7 Bible).

Ask Jesus, the resurrected Savior for wisdom to handle relationships and invite Him into your heart if you are struggling with unpredictability.

Beware-History is likely to repeat!

Problems occur and recur due to unaddressed issue of the past. Unresolved issues act as hidden, structural flaws that inevitably produce recurring failures. When problems are treated as isolated events rather than symptoms of a deeper, unaddressed past, they continue to resurface. When the situation or a crisis is completely avoided or dealt improperly or dealt hurriedly without addressing the root issue, then most likely the same crisis could recur with high intensity. In most cases the solutions are not complemented with change in our approaches, new behavior and style. We follow what we were doing in the past that brought a situation and expect time to change situations. It doesn’t work that way. The bottom line is we don’t seem to learn our lessons well.

Talking about the reasons why past problems recur in the corporate and personal level:

The "Band-Aid" Fix (Operational/Professional): Treating symptoms—such as patching a broken system or ignoring interpersonal conflict—rather than addressing the underlying root cause means the core issue remains, leading to predictable recurrences.

Suppression and Avoidance: Trying to forget or ignore a difficult past event often causes it to build. Buried trauma or problems tend to surface later in unexpected and disproportionate ways.

"Invisible" Accumulation: In business, "minor" defects that are overlooked during one phase often accumulate interest, growing into major, recurring, or catastrophic failures later.

Talking about the organization or business entity people of the lower cadre usually must face all the brunt under a brutal manipulative leader. The people with higher cadre can ignore or overlook because probably it is not affecting them at all. People within a system can be unaware of selfishness. Little do the leaders realise it can package itself and can come in new form that can overthrow the executive leadership itself. In all levels people are concerned what affects them and what favors them. 

Sin problem is no different. You need to address it with all seriousness and commitment failing which it would come back and allure you in a more brutal manner. Remember what Jesus said, “If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members that that your whole body go into hell.” Not in a literal manner though, but the seriousness of dealing with the sin Christ highlighted here. Often, we try to avoid the unpleasant situations and escape consequences but never feel remorse for the mistakes we commit. Some solution to personal sin needs aggressive action. Feeling sorry for the sin and asking forgiveness from Christ Jesus who is willing to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, turning away from sin and returning to Him with clean heart. 

When King Solomon in his book of Proverbs in the Bible advises young people on sexual immorality gives a serious advice which states, “keep your way from her, and do not go near the house.”. Some situation and sin need drastic measures. Right approach is dependent on remorse and willingness to turn away from sin to God and then moving away from the situation that can drag you back to the sinful behavior. Don’t allow the same old problem and situation repeat and drag you deeper into a mess. Seek God for help. He is there to help you.

Cling to me!

 

Hello, my fellow ladies out there, I wish you a very happy Women’s Day! May this day be a kind reminder to you that you are worth it. You a hero even if you are patiently parenting a difficult child, you are a hero if you still love and believe in a husband who has given up on you, you are a hero if you are loyally working for an ungrateful boss, you are still a hero if the whole family or community has ostracized you. We all find ourselves in one of these situations or the other. But remember God loves you. Though these are just mere three words, repeated casually, they carry profound meaning as it says in the Bible: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." (Worth and equality in God's eyes). You need to understand that He loved us woman that we were created in His own image. Every day you look in the mirror, you will see God’s reflection in your own looks. Somehow the society has groomed us to think that our identity is connected to the spouse we marry, having children or the job position we hold. It has overridden the fact that our identity is in God. There are many of us who cling on to our spouse or children or job or possessions without realizing we have made idols of them overtime. We rarely realize that these are shifting sand. They can give away any point of time in our life. 

The Bible says in (Proverbs 19:21), "Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails".  . We somehow conclude just merely being a daughter or mother or an employee fulfills my purpose for God. No doubt they do. But is God the center of your worship and adoration? Do you keep worshipping Him in being a mother or daughter or an employee? Do you seek to be the person whose desire is only to please Him? Do we even ask God what pleases Him? Most of what we do is what pleases us and we conclude that’s what God is also pleased with. 

There is a story of Queen Esther in the Bible. She was the wife of Ahasuerus, widely identified as the Persian Emperor Xerxes I, who reigned from 486 to 465 BC, from India to Ethiopia over 127 provinces, there is a time she pleads with the king regarding someone who was plotting evil against the Jews. “Then she said, If it pleases the king and if I have found favor before him, and the matter seems proper to the king and I am pleasing in his sight, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to eliminate the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces.” (Esther 8:5 Bible). I want you to pay attention to the way she addresses a human king. If it is for a human king how much more when we speak to our Heavenly King. If you notice closely Esther never lost her queen status by speaking that way to the king. She did that out of awe and respect to the authority of the king. She was totally clinging to the favor of the king and what is pleasing to Him. Now this is the kind of clinging, God is looking for in us my dear sisters. 

Not what we feel is what God’s purpose for us but to seek God to reveal His purpose for us. The Bible in Psalm 138:8 says, “The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me. LORD, your faithful love endures forever; do not abandon the work of your hands.” Be bold, be strong for this God, Jesus Christ who died for you and me on the cross to forgive our sins, who has got our back. However, bleak your life situation may look like, seek to fulfill His purpose and He will “make all things beautiful in His time”.

When intentions don’t match your action!

Have you encountered people who are polite and cordial on the outside but are quiet the opposite of who they are within? Welcome to the world of deception and dichotomy! Pretending to be good has become a common trait, especially among people who are associated daily. People’s intentions and actions don’t match. We are more concerned about people having a good impression about us rather than being authentically good.

Words can be far disconnected from what is really in one’s heart. Sweet words become deceptive when they are used to mask hidden, negative, or selfish intentions, functioning as a form of manipulation ("sugar on their lips and poison in their heart"). This often occurs when individuals use flattery to gain trust, hide jealousy, or disguise harmful actions. It is a sign of deceit when actions do not match the spoken words, often leaving behind a trail of disappointment and ruin.

In the Bible, the wisest king Solomon warns people who encounter such people or situations by saying, “When you sit down to eat with a ruler, consider carefully what is before you; And put a knife to your throat If you are a man given to appetite. Do not desire his delicacies, for they are deceptive food. Do not eat the bread of a miser, nor desire his delicacies; for it’s like someone calculating inwardly. “Eat and drink,” he says to you, but his heart is not with you. You will vomit the little you’ve eaten and waste our pleasant words.” (Proverbs 23:1-7 Bible).

The above could be one category of people but we have encountered same or similar people in life. When bitterness is developed people act obnoxiously.  Bible warns us and states, “See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled.” The bitterness harms the one who has it than to whom the person is showing to. The root cause I feel is because of the lack of honesty or the genuine motive to reconcile and set things right. People would rather pretend and betray people into believing they are good than intentionally taking the effort to be good.

Fyoder Dostoevsky cites this beautifully, “People really do like seeing their best friends humiliated; a large part of the friendship is based on humiliation; and that is an old truth, well known to all intelligent people.”

I am sure this quote is relatable. When our hearts are not filled by Christ’s love it learns to live with constant contradiction. In book of John in the Bible we find strong words against hatred. It says, “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him”. Hating your brother equals to murdering, isn’t that serious? The problem of the heart is so complex that we all usually let evil slide. When we operate based on power, self-righteousness, racism, egoism we do no longer have Christ’s love in us. When Christ transforms us, we become transformed and transparent. We can be transformed provided we are willing to ask forgiveness from the muck of self-righteousness and accept Christ transforming love by faith. Repentance from sins and accepting Christ in your heart as your Savior is the only way that assures us forgiveness and eternity. Would you like to know Christ more?

Age of loudcasting!

  

We are in the age where everything is too loud! People tend to forget there are people around them especially when it comes to the public places, sadly that includes the sacred zones too. In some countries and cultures, it is worse, no one really cares for the other people. "Age of Loudcasting" describes a modern trend where individuals publicly consume media—videos, music, or calls—on their devices without headphones at high volumes, subjecting bystanders to unavoidable, often unwanted audio. Common in commuting, cafes, and public spaces, this behavior is driven by increased, unrestrained personal device usage.

Nearly 46% of people admit to watching videos without headphones in public, according to the different survey. The Week  While common across ages, teenagers are roughly four times more likely (83%) to loudcast than people over 55 (21%). Data suggests it is more common among men (52%) than women (40%). This phenomenon, sometimes called "digital litter," forces personal, often loud, entertainment into shared environments, leading to decreased public etiquette. 

With too many digital entertainments one can reach quickly through their smart digital device people are therefore continuously looking for the external sound to fill their space. People can no longer be quiet doing nothing yet in peace. Richie Corrao states, ‘Life can be so full of madness with polarizing opinions, division, deceptions, and brutality pulling at your peace from every direction. But if you belong to God, you’ll recognize His voice in the middle of it all, and all that other “stuff” that consumes so many loses its grip on you. The challenge for us is learning to block out the noise so we can focus on Him and follow his word. God’s voice isn’t the loudest…but it’s the only one that will lead you home.’

In the age of inflamed rage fueled by exaggeration, self-justification and a hostile spirit, have we forgotten that behind the chaos is the manifestation of spiritual warfare in the heavenlies? There are desperate times, with political unrest, racial polarization, economic uncertainty and loud accusations and counterattacks. Bible talks about it already predicting the age now we are living. It says in the Bible 2Timothy 3:1-2, “But know this: Hard times will come in the last days. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, demeaning, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…” If you notice carefully all these traits lead someone to express themselves loud. 

The peace of God if rules your heart you would find serenity and tranquility in your mind. What people are struggling today is finding the divine peace that has the ability to calm the heart and soothe the mind. Only Jesus in the entire human history claimed and assured the divine peace to all who reach out to Him. He said,  "peace I leave with you, my peace I give you." Knowing Jesus the God of Peace and making a decision to have this God of Peace and truth will transform you and your situation forever. He is the risen savior and promises to live in your heart. Do you want to know Him more? Grab the Bible (Physical or Digital) and read the book of John. No pressure no persuasion. I am sure you find the true peace overshadowing your life when you confess your dependence to follow Him.
